Meet the Designer
My name is Celestine, and I am a passionate and highly skilled fashion designer with over 35 years in fashion design.I didn’t start Celo Mode Couture to just “do alterations.” I started it because after 35 years of fitting thousands of bodies, I was tired of watching brides, prom girls, and mothers settle for “close enough.”Your dress should fit your body. Not the other way around. For over three decades, I’ve specialized in structural couture — the engineering behind the elegance. My signature is the zipper-to-corset-back conversion: removing restrictive zippers and building custom lace-up backs with steel boning, so you can breathe, eat, dance, and actually enjoy your day. Why 35 years matters:
I’ve worked on everything, from prom dresses to
couture gowns. I’ve seen what happens when beading isn’t reinforced, when boning is plastic instead of steel, and when “rush” means sloppy. My clients come to me when fit is non-negotiable. Celo Mode isn’t a dry cleaner with a sewing machine.
This is a design studio. Every gown that comes through my doors gets the same technical assessment I’d give a runway piece: construction analysis, fabric behaviour, body mapping, and a fit plan built for you. I work with: Brides who refuse to compromise on their wedding day; Pageant contestants who need performance-level structure; Mothers & formal clients who want to feel elegant, not squeezed; Prom students who deserve a couture fit without couture pressure. My promise after 35 years:
I will tell you the truth about your dress. If a corset back will solve your fit issues, I’ll engineer it perfectly. If alterations won’t save it, I’ll tell you that too. Your trust is worth more than one service. Beyond alterations, I accept limited Custom Couture Gown commissions for clients who want something built from sketch to final fitting, entirely from scratch. Based in Calgary, serving clients who value craft over shortcuts. Ready for a fit that actually fits? Contact Celo Mode.
